Counseling Services for Individuals in Pennsylvania, Montgomery County and the Greater Philadelphia Area

hello and Welcome to Healing Garden Therapy.

I’m Stephanie. It’s lovely to meet you.

Life is actually really hard. If you’re here, chances are you’re experiencing something in your own life that feels too heavy for you to carry. You’ve had loss in your life, whether due to changes in your job, relationships, health, or the death of a beloved pet or person. You’re experiencing major transitions in your life, and you’re overwhelmed and exhausted. The idea of caring for yourself feels out of reach.

This is the perfect time to take a first step in prioritizing yourself.

I’m a licensed professional counselor (LPC) and I specialize in grief and bereavement counseling, and I also work with individuals with a cancer diagnosis and those who care for them. My approach is integrative and holistic, meaning I draw on a variety of approaches to tailor counseling to your individual needs and goals, bringing together care for your mind, body, and spirit. I offer virtual counseling sessions for adult individuals located in Pennsylvania.

I specialize in working with adult individuals who:

  • are grieving a loss

  • have cancer or other major illness

  • are a caretaker for a loved one with an illness

  • are experiencing a major life transition

  • are navigating stress, anxiety, depression, and overwhelm in everyday life

who I work with

I incorporate evidence-based and trauma-sensitive techniques such as:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) - fosters psychological flexibility, which helps you live life mindfully based on your values by exploring and not avoiding difficult emotions and sensations.

  • Narrative therapy - helps you discover, reclaim, and re-tell your personal experience and story, with the goal of reducing shame and blame.

  • Mindfulness-based interventions - helps to increase self-awareness, promotes cognitive & emotional flexibility, and helps with stress reduction.

  • Existential therapy - helps you confront existential concerns in your world and view them as part of the human experience, allowing you to live more authentically.

  • Psycho-social oncology - explores social, emotional and psychological distress as part of the cancer experience, viewing these aspects as equally as important as medical care.

How I Work

It’s important to me to create a safe space for you to feel comfortable in opening up about what’s difficult for you right now. Just like a garden, we need to tend to ourselves in order to grow and thrive. We will go at your pace, and discover practical strategies to help you re-discover your inner wisdom so you can move forward with a sense of meaning and renewed energy for life.

don’t take the second step
or the third,
start with the first thing
close in,
the step

you don’t want to take.”
